On a dreary rain showered day we are playing with petals & making pretty faces with some of my fave cosmetics & homemade potions!

Fading hydrangers & roses mean soaking the petals in warm water to make a beautiful toner, safe for sensitive babes & Mama…because Flora obviously joins in too! 

Some left over raspberry & apricot scrub made with porridge oats & almond milk followed by some ‘stick petals to your face Mama…’ 

Then Rose toner & my only splurge, Cath Kidston Flora Geranium hand cream (on my face!) & matching lip balm! 

All enjoyed with a cup of Kew Gardens & Taylors collaboration, Rose & Lemonade… my current fave tea. 

Hopefully you can imagine the glorious scent of our blustery afternoon indoors & you’re inspired to play with petals this weekend! 

Kim & me are going on a friends Hen weekend tomorrow so I’m now feeling pre-pampered & ready to have a pretty couple of days on the Norfolk coast! Wish us luck!!!!

Is there anything better than a petal picnic on a handmade blanket??! (Except maybe cakes rather than petals??? 🤔) 

Anyway, I have a couple more of my Cottage Collection knitted picnic blankets finished, they’re 2 rows smaller than the last bunch, because you know, mum life etc etc… so they’re only £40 each+£4.99pp I also have a couple of mix n match grannies ready which are only £15, I usually use up old scraps of wool on them & use them in a big patchwork of picnic blankets like the second pic  👆🏻👆🏻👆🏻 so if you want more than one, I can pop them into the same parcel to save pp! 

Oh & I also STILL have my rainbow & pastel rainbow MAMA size blankies here, they’re £50 with huge Pom poms (obvs!)

My newest blanket might seem expensive to begin, but if you divide the years I hope you will keep it plus the years it will be passed down for, by the time it takes to make, I’m hoping it works out pretty flippin cheap…that’s why I’ve decided it’s an Florafairweather heirloom. 

Totally different to my usual blankets, it has crocheted Pom poms all the way round & 3D flower granny squares in my usual bonkers colour palette! 

They’re £70, approx a 2/3wk turnaround & im about to put the first one for sale in my Shop. I reeeeeeaLLy hope you love them so I can get some pretty boxes & tags made up to package it as a new airloom range! FINALLY something new for Florafairweather that’s not adverts I hear you cry!!! 😆😆😆 Please leave me your thoughts, as long as they’re kind…you know I’m emotional!!! 💗💗💗🌈💗🤦🏼‍♀️



So those of you who know the story, it really is a true one, despite Dylan saying I concocted the whole thing because I wanted a pig… it does sound like something I’d do, I do like pigs, but she REALLY did just wander into our garden one night when he was at work!!!!! Amazing!!!! 😭

She was sooooo small!!! 👆🏻* I don’t know why there’s such a big white gap there but I can’t get rid of it so it’s just there ok?!!! 🤔

Anyway, she’s settled in super & despite not knowing where she came from, she’s very very sweet & now living happily at Rose Cottage… We think she’s about a year old now which is good news for her as farmed pigs only live to 9 months before they’re slaughtered. I can’t even think further than writing that sentence but I’ll leave it there. She plays like our dogs, she makes her bed before she gets in it & she always poos in the same spot so she doesn’t make her pen messy…our dogs are pretty thick compared to her if I’m honest. 

SO… she’s growing growing growing & will soon need more space!!!! We originally let her loose in the field but she couldn’t be trusted to stay put so until we can buy more stock fencing she’s got to stay where she is! I’ve started a fund & figured I’d make her some of her very own ‘merch to promote her cause!!! 

I dreamt up these bags because every Friday, the grocer at our market gives us a bag of wonky carrots because she has a soft spot for pigs & wouldn’t believe my story of how Posy arrived, I invited her to Rose Cottage for a coffee & we’ve been friends ever since!!! Anyway, my usual shopper is always full of junk & the plastic ones are the devil!!! SO…everyone needs one for their veggies right???! You don’t have to be a Vegan to buy one, just a believer in a better life for pigs & therefore the world!!! They’re printed on Earth Positive bags which means they were produced using ONLY renewable wind & solar energy therefore being carbon neutral! Good eh??! 🌱🌎

You’re all well aware of what we spent our *sometimes sunny summer doing, it seems a while ago now, but flicking through my book now it’s here reminds me that it was extraordinarily ordinary in the most beautiful way… 💕

I’ve collected a few pics together to hint at the moral of the story so far…

We started working on it pretty much every day from June, scrap booking, hunter/gathering & face timing my moods & feels to my bestie & publisher Sissy.

Flora & me were very professional & didn’t once give up!!!

PAH! Ok maybe only three or four times but I found it quite difficult to bring my head back to the real world with regards to deadlines, adult conversation & stickability to one project rather than a zillion little hobby ones! It’s been a LONG time since I was at Uni & even then I don’t think I worked so seriously!!!

After everything was curated I really enjoyed the pages falling into place, I ordered the months & colours in the book which is a small detail but for someone like me <Aesthetically anal I think is a good description!> is such a beautiful detail & gives an underlying moral to my wellbeing narrative. Serious stuff eh??! Who knew!!! 🙋😆🙋 *note to self…email Uni lecturer to confirm me actually completing a project!!!

On my part, I was almost done, Lauren was able to get on with the dull bits & turned it into an ACTUAL thing. I did however knock up a little pretend version for Flora’s critique that was home printed & holepunched!!! Fingers crossed it will be worth something one day…😆😆😆 I won’t be posting any pics of that!!!

Hallelujah!!! Finally, the first week of November 2016, after almost half a year of labouring our love, it is ready for you!!! I’m hot & cold excited & goosepimply happy, but you know that right?!!!
